Masquerade Judge

Our Masquerade Judges are master or professional cosplayers who want to help make the FanimeCon Masquerade an inclusive, fair, and impartial event.

BENEFITS

Masquerade Judges are contractors who receive a compensation package that will be detailed when a 2025 position is offered to a judge candidate.

REQUIREMENTS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Previous judging experience is not required. However, FanimeCon judges generally have years of related experience in the following disciplines:
* Costume construction and/or design.
* One or more of the following: 3D printing, urethane resin, fiberglass, foam-latex appliances, leatherworking, machining, vacuum-forming, and/or related processes.
* Dance, choreography, or performance (concerts, plays, variety shows, etc.).

SCHEDULE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please be aware that Craftsmanship entries for the cosplay contest are pre-judged. You will need to commit to the schedule below.
* Friday (Day 1): 12pm - 5pm
* Saturday (Day 2): 10am - 1pm, [Break from 1pm - 3pm], 3pm - 6pm
* Sunday (Day 3): 10am - 1pm, [Break from 1pm - 4pm], 4pm - End of Masquerade
* Monday (Day 4): Potential Judge Panel, time TBD.

PREREQUISITES

* Be at least 18 years of age prior to or by Day 0 of FanimeCon.
* Attend at least the last two planning meetings prior to con.
* Mandatory meeting at 12:00pm on Day 1 (Friday).
* Ability to judge contestants using a simple online database.

* If your experience is primarily in costuming or props, please explain your rank. Cosplay competition ranks are typically novice, journeyman, master, or professional.
* If your experience is more in performance, please explain related experience including (but not limited to) shows and productions.
* Please send links to examples of your craftsmanship or performances.
