Besides these, most other departments are looking for staff. You can apply for them at the main staff application site.
Fan Storage Staff
The Fan Storage Department provides attendees at FanimeCon a place to safely store their props, bags, or other items for a small fee. We also provide a bag check for the Black and White Ball. Whether for one day or the whole weekend, Fan Storage is here to help!
We understand folks want to enjoy FanimeCon to the maximum, but shopping swag and merch can be a huge bummer to carry around. Our local hotels tend to fill up quickly and are unable to typically handle the excessive luggage, especially on Monday (which is when nearly all of our attendees check out). This puts each hotel in a tough spot as they can (and have) run out of room very quickly, so we help make the process easier on everyone.
We are looking for staff to help process and organize the many items that pass through Fan Storage each day and help make sure that attendees have a safe, easy, and quick time storing their things.
Staff Duties:
-Taking payments from customers
-Checking in & out things such as items, personal belongings, props, etc.
-Labor evolving around carrying and picking up items (even the heavy props).
-Organizing and storing items.
-Set up and tear down, including the construction and dismantling of shelves.
-Monitoring items and keeping them safe.
-Ensuring the space is clean, tidy, and pristine.
-Jaw dropping amazement when a cosplayer or amazing prop walks in (with non-negotiable consent of course).
-Other things that might be needed to support the department.
Ideal Requirements:
-Age 16+ and over.
-Able to committee working 4-6 hour shifts. (Total of 24 hours over the weekend.)
-Greet customers warmly, handle expensive or delicate garments with care, and maintain composure when venues get crowded.
-An availability on the Thursday before Fanime starts, to help set up the storage area.
-Communicating simple, direct, and positive directions.
-Reliability & Punctuality: Arrive early before doors open to set up the room and stay until all items are safely returned.
-Maintain speed and a friendly demeanor during simultaneous check-ins or mass end-of-event departures.
-Positive vibes and great attitude.
-A friend so you don’t have to be alone, but we are a friendly department!
If this sounds like something you want to do, apply ASAP! Can’t wait to see you soon!
